Could tech support please clear up the coverage on the IM608. Does it have all of the "diagnostic coverage" of the MS908P? What about programming, will it update Mercedes and BMW? Will the IM608 program a new ECM for a mercedes (not the Jbox)?
I have both tools, how could I keep all of my coverage without paying twice for diagnostics? If I update the 908P and the 608 I would be paying twice for the diagnostics, I hope Autel will give a discount on the 608 if you purchase a subscription for the 908P or visa versa. After all, I'm only adding BMW and Mercedes programming by updating the 908P. All of the other functions are on the 608 from what I could tell.
Could support please clear this up for me? -

I have the IM608 and it is supposed to have the same diagnostic, coding and programming as the elite but has locksmith level key coding as well. It is designed to be the end all, be all. -

The IM 608 does not offer ECU flash programming for BMW and Mercedes Benz. The cheaper option "in the long run" might have been to buy a new Maxi Sys Elite with 2 years of updates , then sold your MaxiSys Pro and used the proceeds of that to offset the purchase cost of an IM508 and add an XP400 later if you want to do keys on European models like the IM608. Some folk claim the immobilizer software between the IM 508 and IM608 tobe the same I'm not quite sure the IM508 software would have the European car immobilizer offerings that requires using the XP400 with step by step how to , if the IM508 doesn't include the XP 400 as part of the kit , but appears it can do a Mercedes Benz with an XP400https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW7SzuKytmI

its a pity we cant buy an ms908pro and add the (im) locksmith data to the program (at an extra cost of course) instead of having 2 devices
